There have been two troubling thefts this week of high profile North End businesses. On Monday, a Mike’s Pastry employee was robbed on Hanover Street while bringing nearly $10,000 in cash to the Citizens Bank across the street. Licensing Board Extends Closing Hour for Tresca’s and Monica’s to 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday & Saturday

The Boston Licensing Board ruled this morning that two North End restaurants can extend their alcohol serving hours to 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Licensing Board Schedules Hearings for Closing Hour Extensions at Tresca and Vinoteca di Monica

In advisory votes, the Neighborhood Council voted to support the application by Tresca Restaurant while the Residents’ Association voted to oppose it. For Monica’s, the Neighborhood Council voted to support while the Residents’ Association has yet to hear the application. In a unanimous vote of 9-0, the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council supported Jorge Mendoza’s application to extend the closing hours for Vinoteca di Monica to 1:00 a.m., 7 days per week.
