New trash days in effect, Mondays and Thursdays, with pickup starting at 6am. (See flyer.) Curbside placement is allowed starting at 5pm on Sundays and Wednesdays, respectively.

NEMPAC has been designated for two surplus buildings on Tileston Street. Read more.

The City of Boston budget has been approved by the City Council for FY2020. Details are available at budget.boston.gov and we have a summary here.

Public Works reports that compliance has generally been good with the new trash pickup days/times (Mondays and Thursdays, starting at 6am). Details here.

Climate Ready Boston will hold a second Open House for the North End and Downtown areas on July 15, 6pm at the 290 Congress St., 2nd Floor.

Summer music returns to City Hall Plaza as do fitness classes (Zumba on Monday’s, Boot Camp on Friday’s) at Columbus Park.

(07:20) Public Safety Committee – Chair Patrick Bova was not present. View the latest police blotter reports here. NEWNC President Brett Roman warned of a new scam where people on the street will approach and try to have you to Venmo them money.

(08:00) Greenway Committee – Chairman Carmine Guarino reported Summer Greenway activities, including Tango dancing. Figment Boston returns on July 27-28. The Open Market is active on weekends. Refer to check RoseKennedyGreenway.org for details.

(09:00) Harborfront Neighborhood Alliance – Educational events will be scheduled shortly, following the recent Chapter 91 lecture by Boston Harbor Now and the Conservation Law Foundation.

(10:00) NEWNC congratulates RUFF Committee Chair, Ashley Leo, on the birth of her child this month! In the meantime, Roman reminds dog owners to pickup after their dogs.

(10:20) Parking and Traffic Committee – Chair Jody Faller noted that the recent changes to the trash schedule have moved street sweeping from Thursdays to Fridays.
