Dirty Needle Safety

It has come to our attention that a number of used hypodermic needles have been found in a several locations in the North End. Here is a reminder about needle safety and the steps you should take if you see a need or get stuck by one.

What to do if you find a dirty needle:

  • Stop. Do not go further into the park.
  • Don’t touch the needle.
  • Tell an adult if you are a child.
  • Call 911.

If you are accidentally stuck by a dirty needle:

  • Wash the area
  • Seek immediate medical attention

  2. I heard they have been pretty much been found all over the neighborhood from Endicott to North to Commercial to right outside St John School and the Gassy. Please make sure your kids aware of the dangers and to NEVER touch a needle!

  3. Once again the North Ends dirty secret rears its ugly head. I’m referring to the article on used hypodermic needles being found throughout the neighborhood & once again people choose to ignore the problem instead complaining about the sign at 7-11, cars & trash.I wont call the drug issue down here an epidemic {yet] buts its pretty bad & a much bigger threat to people, children & the neighborhood than these other minor issues.
