The Friends of the North End Branch Library dedicated the newly restored Palazzo Ducale diorama this week and celebrated the completion of this special project.
Featured speakers included Gene & Corinne Reppucci, representing Gene’s late mother Anna Reppucci and the Memorial Trust that funded the diorama restoration of the famous Venice, Italy landmark. Anna Reppucci was born in the North End and a lifelong friend of the North End Library.
The Palazzo Ducale, or Doge’s Palace, was once the center of power in the Venetian Republic between 1100-1500. Read more about its history.
The Palazzo Ducale diorama is open to the public inside the library located at 25 Parmenter Street in Boston’s North End.
The diorama is fantastic. Did not know it was there. We will have to stop in next time we are there and look at it.
My wife and I go to the North End and walk by the library often after sailing to go to our favorite restaurant on Salem Street. Gene Reppucci and I went to Northeastern University together. Bob Blaha
