Welcome back to our weekly update that highlights some of the cases appearing on 311 in the North End/Waterfront neighborhoods. All 311 cases are public information and can be found at 311.boston.gov.

Falling Bricks at 5 Holden Ct

This 311 user writes, “I have called in the past & nothing was done! bricks are falling off the back of the building at 5 Holden Ct. I park at 479 Hanover Street and a brick hit my car. Attached is a picture of the side of the building which can be seen from the parking lot at 479 Hanover Street. I have contacted the owner to pay for the damage to my car with no response.”

Labor Unrest at 2 Battery Wharf

This 311 user says, “Labor unrest: How can the city continue to condone this all day yelling and screaming in our residential neighborhood by Local 24? It is now almost 7pm and this has been going on since 7 am! Why do the law abiding and tax paying residents of the North End have to put up with this kind of infantile extortion of a legitimate business??”

The original 311 post can be found here. The post was submitted and opened on September 30, 2019 and remains open as of October 2, 2019.

Overflowing Trash at 40 Commercial Whf E

This 311 user writes, “Dumpster behind Joe’s American Bar and Grill is throwing out toxic, foul-smelling waste into the area which drains directly into the harbor. Boston 311, I am shocked this type of pollution is permitted!! Every other restaurant in the North End has their garbage picked up daily without the use of dumpster/trash compactor. Joe’s American Bar and Grill on Christopher Columbus Park is a neighborhood restaurant for the rat community. Please address this insult to the harbor ASAP! Thank you!!!”

The 311 post can be found here. The post was submitted and opened on August 29, 2019 and was closed on September 30, 2019 with the following note: “Closed with status: Case Noted. No violation was found at this time. Area surrounding dumpster was clean. No odor was noticed coming from dumpster or surrounding area. Will monitor property.”
