The Friends Of The North End (F0NE), completed their 13th annual spring bocce season on Sunday, June 16th.

After six weeks of play, team #3 won first place in the tournament. The winning team was led by Captain Willie Celata along with players: Anthony Antidormi, Natale DeMarco and Mike Romano. As usual, the games were very competitive and challenging. It goes without saying that at times, the competition was not without some confrontational moments.
A banquet was held on Wednesday, June 19th at the Flaming Grill Chinese Restaurant in Revere, MA. The players were awarded certificates for their great effort and fair play.
Captain Willie Celata was awarded the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), for his leadership and expert bocce skills.
The Friends are carrying on a long time tradition of playing bocce at the North End Park, the same location some of their grandfathers and fathers played in the past.
Friends Of The North End was established in 1972 by a few boyhood friends who grew up in the North End. Today there are 72 members in the organization who meet at least once a month for dinner at the Sons of Italy, in Winchester, MA.
The 47th annual reunion of the FONE will be held on September 21, 2019 at the Sons Of Italy Hall in Winchester, MA. These reunions have attracted approximately two hundred (200) men who grew up in the North End year.
