The Friends of the North End Bocce Tournament resumed play on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Charlie Marino who Commissioner Sam Viscione appointed Director of Field Services was on hand to assist caring for and grooming the courts. Charlie has for many years always had a part in helping us out and we want him to know that we appreciate what he does for us.

Team 5 captained by Richie “Duffle Bags’’ Delliago made a comeback to take 2 out 3 matches in spite of the poor play and awful coaching of Gaspar Ostuni. Consequentially Team 5’s members “Duffle Bags”, Joe Ferullo and Paul Dabene Sr. have unanimously decided to send Gaspar down to their AAA affiliate in Tirana, Albania in hopes that he can somehow improve his play. An official protest was put in by Team 5. They claim that Tony Gaeta was “fixing the score” during the competition. Commissioner, Sam, will review the tape and present his findings before play resumes on October 5th.

Team 4 captained by Anthony Antidormi and Team 7 led by Joe Blazo played inspired bocce all morning long with rivals Joe Testa and John Lombardi making many key shots prompting Joe Blazo to utter an old North End refrain, ”we lost but we should’ve won!” The Stars of Week #3 were Joe Testa and John Lombardi.
