Things to know for Wednesday
Today is Wednesday, August 9 and if you’ve stopped by Cutillo playground recently, you may have noticed a new mural painting from the Mayor’s Mural Crew, a group of roughly 14 Boston High School students who are being paid to paint murals around the city this summer, read more on NECN.

Here’s why there’s a big blue line painted on the Boston Harbor Garage
If you’ve walked by the Boston Harbor Garage over the past couple of days, you may have noticed the blue stripe and sign on the side of the garage saying “open to sea”. This is Don Chiofaro’s attempt to help the public “visualize the magnitude of the new waterfront open space,” should he be allowed to replace the garage with the much debated tower, read more on the Boston Globe.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace presents “Movies at the Marketplace” where the West End of the Marketplace will be transformed into an outdoor movie theatre where visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy free movies with pre-show activities starting at 7:00pm and movies beginning at dusk. This week’s movie will be Dreamgirls.

Sales Tax Holiday. For the weekend of Aug. 11-12, consumers can purchase goods of $2,500 and under without paying the state’s 6.25 percent sales tax.
10:00AM BCYF’s Summer “Girls Nights” at the Aquarium. Join the Boston Centers for Youth & Families at the New England Aquarium for a series of free girls-only events throughout the summer. All activities are designed to bring girls together in a safe, non-competitive environment where they can be themselves, meet other girls their age and engage with role models, see here for additional details.
