The Coast Guard’s latest 418-foot National Security Cutter James (WSML 754) arrived at Base Boston today in the North End.
Commemorating the 225th birthday of the U.S. Coast Guard this week, the Cutter James will be commissioned in a ceremony on Saturday, August 8th. It is the fifth of eight planned cutters of this generation, the largest in the USCG fleet. It is named after Capt. Joshua James.
James is docked at the U.S. Coast Guard base at 427 Commercial Street in the North End and will be open to the public on Tuesday, August 4th from 10am to 2pm. More information.
