Boston Harbor Islands kicks off their 2018 season today with free ferry rides to Georges and Spectacle Islands. Free ferry day looks to be a big hit, based on this scene from earlier this morning.
The ticket office opened at 7:30 a.m. and at 7:45 a.m., this is how many people were hoping for a free ride to the harbor islands. The line started at the ticket booth on Long Wharf North, extended down to Tia’s, and then wrapped around along the Marriott back to the ticket window.
One woman who was close to the front said she had arrived at 6:30 a.m. to make sure she got her ticket.
