The sinking and salvage of “King Triton” last week drew a crowd last week, including resident Joanne Hayes-Rines who shares these photos. The 65-foot, 1945 vessel was docked behind Hook Lobster near the Old Northern Avenue Bridge.
The boat was carrying diesel fuel that was apparently able to be contained without incident.
A crane was able to resurface the large boat. It is not clear why the boat sunk and the incident is under investigation by the Coast Guard.
