Welcome to a new weekly update that highlights some of the cases appearing on 311 in the North End/Waterfront neighborhoods. All 311 cases are public information and can be found at 311.boston.gov.
Homelessness at 24 Unity Street

Litter at 475 Commercial Street North End
“Homeless person living behind pool. Please remove this person and their belongings. My children are scared to go for walks with the increased homeless population on the waterfront.”
The original 311 post can be found here. This case was submitted and opened on August 28th, 2017. It was then closed on August 29th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: Case Noted. Garbage was removed, Boston Police will be notified.”
Rodent Sighting at 2-4 Moon St North End
“Sidewalk infested with rats. Please deploy rodent control.”

The original 311 post can be found here. This case was submitted and opened on August 28th, 2017. It was then closed on August 29th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: ROA: Refer to Other Agency/Division.”
Damaged Sign at 154 Commercial Street North End
“Streetlamp directly in front of 154 Commercial Street in the north end is broken – Light bulb works however the fixture that the bulb sits in is broken and crooked.”
The original 311 post can be found here. This case was submitted and opened on August 24th, 2017. It was then closed on August 28th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: Case Resolved. Straightened, Re-Lamped, & Partially Re-Glazed Colonial Unit.”
Litter at Intersection Of Lewis St & Fulton St
“There’s still confetti and trash on the street from the Fishermans Feast two weeks ago. Please come clean. This street does not have street cleaning and desperately needs it.”
The original 311 post can be found here. This case was submitted and opened on August 30th, 2017. It was then closed on the same day, August 30th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: Case Noted. Area blown out and swept.”
