It has not been a good year so far for fires in the North End. Last month, it was the hoverboard fire on Hanover Street, and a utility room fire on North Street before that.

This weekend, Boston Fire Department said “careless disposal of smoking material” caused a small blaze early last Saturday morning in the rear of 28 Parmenter Street, according to a report on Universal Hub. Damage is only $5,000 to the one-story extension on the roof.

Two stores on Salem Street were temporarily closed, Boston Common Coffee and the North End Fish Market.

Fire Returns to Hanover Street Building at Il Panino Trattoria

Just over a year after a tragic fire at the same building of 280-282 Hanover St., a fire broke out in the kitchen ceiling of Il Panino Trattoria around 6pm on Saturday night.
