Video: 124-126 Salem Street project presented at North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association meeting on November 14, 2013

Collin Yip and his architectural/legal team presented at both North End / Waterfront neighborhood groups this week regarding zoning relief to construct a 5-story 55′ high building on the site currently occupied by a 13-space parking lot. The proposed development will include nine residential (condominium) units and a retail store or restaurant on the ground level. Some units will have recessed balconies and the building is proposed with an ornamental wrought iron front facing. The building will include sprinklers, elevator and an interior trash chute / dumpster.

NEWNC and NEWRA both deferred voting on the proposal until the owner determines whether or not to include a potential 4-space parking area and entrance to the building. Eliminating the parking will allow for a larger storefront / commercial space facing Salem Street. The plan is expected to come back during the December 2013 round of neighborhood meetings for further consideration.
