Tuesday, July 28

6:30pm Contra Dancing at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
Join Massachusetts-based band Cardinal Direction for Contra Dancing under the stars in the South Market. Never heard of Contra Dancing? Think of square dancing but in a straight line! Lessons begin at 6pm and dancing with live music runs from 6:30pm – 8pm. It all free, more details will be available at www.FaneuilHallMarketplace.com.

8:00am – 8:00pm Boston Public Market Opening Day!
It’s the Grand Opening of the Boston Public Market at 100 Hanover Street at Haymarket Station. The BPM will be open Wednesday through Sunday, 8am-8pm featuring local, fresh food and beverages. See the opening day flyer post and BostonPublicMarket.org for more information.

10:00am US-Japan Baseball Exchange at Puopolo Park
Once again the North End Athletic Association’s Dodger baseball Program will host a game in the North End between the North End Dodgers and a team of similar age boys from Japan. View the event post for more details.

11:00am Greenway Farmers Market at North End Parks, 136 Blackstone Street
The Boston Public Market’s Greenway Farmers Market offers fresh local food on the plaza at 136 Blackstone Street, opposite the Rose Kennedy Greenway’s North End Parks. This season, the Boston Public Market Greenway Farmers Market runs on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Also on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

5:00pm Italian Movie Nights at Caffe Paradiso [255 Hanover Street, Boston]
Each Wednesday evening, two Italian movies will be shown with English subtitles (5:00 and 7:00 pm) at Caffè Paradiso downstairs in the air-conditioned viewing room. The movies will be projected on a huge screen with clear and loud stereo speakers. Additionally, we will provide fresh food and drinks from local North End establishments.

6:00pm Lewis Wharf Hotel Development Meeting at Pilot House, Lewis Wharf
From Lewis Wharf and abutter group: Join your fellow neighbors at a critically important meeting regarding the proposed development at the end of Lewis Wharf.  At the meeting they will summarize current facts concerning the development as well as a proposed plan of action. View the event post.

7:00pm Stardust Dance Party at City Hall Plaza
July 29th will feature Stardust, a City Hall Plaza favorite, playing dance floor hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Celebrating 43 years as Boston’s longest-running free outdoor concert series, these performances bring great entertainment to this unique venue located in the heart of the City. All shows begin at 7 p.m.

7:30pm “Frozen” Movie Night at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground
“Frozen” is the movie this week. Movies start at dusk on Wednesdays in July and August at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground on Prince Street. Pizza at 7pm and movie starts around 8pm. Thanks to Pizzeria Regina – bring your chairs and blankets!

12:00pm Literary Lunch Break at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
Grab lunch from the various vendors and join every Thursday at the Lounge Reading Room. Come chat with local authors as they read and discuss their recent novels or put on an unforgettable performance. July 30th will feature – “Night Night, Sleep Tight,” by Hallie Ephron.

1:00pm NEAD Arts & Crafts at Mirabella Pool
NEAD will provide arts and crafts with Patricia and Marlo at the Mirabella Pool outside the concession stand to the left under the trees. Children ages 6 and up will be able to make a fun craft each week. Children under age 6 can participate with a parents help.

7:00pm Eight to the Bar Concert at Christopher Columbus Park
The North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is partnering once again with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events this summer season to bring an exciting, FREE music program to Christopher Columbus Park.

Friday, July 31

10:00am Kids Fitness at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
July 31st will be taught by Adina (kids Zumba). Bring your children to Faneuil Hall Marketplace for a fun fitness series (parents, don’t be shy to jump in too). Get the opportunity to try yoga, Zumba and many other great classes! Join us in the South Market near Wagamama on Fridays from 10am to 10:45am.

12:00pm Afternoon Concert Series at Sam Adams Park (Faneuil Hall)
“The Yousif Yaseen Project”
will be performing as part of the 2015 Friday Afternoon Concert Series lineup. From July 10 – August 21, 2015, each Friday a different local band will perform live from 12pm-2pm in Sam Adams Park (Faneuil Hall). The event is free!

6:00pm NEAD Sports Night at Polcari Playground (Nazzaro)
Sports Night program returns on Friday evenings for 5 weeks in a row. This program will once again be led by Jeremy Sarzana, who works at the Nazzaro Center throughout the year. There will be pizza and soft drinks for the kids who participate in the sports night program.

6:00pm “Field of Dreams” Movie at Rowes Wharf – BHH
An Iowa corn farmer, hearing voices, interprets them as a command to build a baseball diamond in his fields; he does, and the Chicago White Sox come. More information on the movie.

10:00am LaFesta Baseball Tournament Game 2 at Puopolo Park Commercial Street
The annual Lafesta Baseball Tournament at Puopolo Park will kick off the 4 Day Family Fun Festival hosted by North End Against Drugs along with the Nazzaro Center and Eversource. View the event post.

12:00pm North End Family Pride Day at Langone Park Commercial Street
The big North End Family Pride Day is on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Langone Park on Commercial Street with a free BBQ, bocce, live music and a kids talent show.

7:30pm Sunday Night Movie at Christopher Columbus Park
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom will begin at dusk The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) is delighted to present Sunday Night Movies in the Park again this year thanks to the sponsorship of Al Dente Restaurant, Benevento’s Restaurant and Boston Pushcart.
