Sal D’Girolamo, Manager of The Wild Duck at 92-96 Salem Street and Attorney William Ferullo presented the liquor store’s plan and application to the Boston Licensing Board to expand its all-alcohol retail beverages license into the basement to increase storage capacity.
According to a NEWRA report, the basement space had previously been used as an illegal apartment and was a fire hazard. NEWRA had received several complaints from neighbors regarding possible illicit activity in and outside the unit. Such activity has apparently ceased since the Wild Duck’s control of the space.
Because the Licensing Board has already voted to approve the request, NEWRA executives did not call for a vote on the application.
Nice work, Sal. That space just keeps getting better!
