  1. Yet, so many young people are still coming to the north end to live and raise their familits. If people feel it is unsafe then why do they continue to come here. Frank Gargano, clearly you’re not from the North End because if you were born and brought up here you would know that it is not unsafe to live in or walk around in. It is these younger people who move here from out of town and think that they are entitled to the area, disrespectful and ruining OUR north end. Also, it’s going to take a lot more than a few fights to kick out real North Enders.

    1. Anonymous,

Frank is just making an observation. Why can he not put in his two cents without being attacked for where he may and may not be from? Guess what, if he lives here it’s HIS North End, too. The neighborhood is changing. It doesn’t belong to you, or any group of individuals, but the entire community that chooses to call this great neighborhood home.

  2. anonymous, A more accurate statement would be that the North End is more safer & has less serious crime than most neighborhoods. However if you click on the North End Public safety meeting article you will clearly see that in some instances it is NOT safe to live or walk around the North End,not all the visitors to the NE are coming down for the cannoli’s or the “charm” of the neighborhood.

  3. Attacking someone or being passionate? It’s upsetting to see the name of a community loved by so many ruined because a few people want to referred to it as unsafe. For those of us who do attend the north end public safety meetings, we are working very hard to keep the community and it’s name safe.Yes there have been incidents in the past that have occurred and we’ve come together to fix it and make the north end better so those of you who do visit for cannolis and it’s charm can feel SAFE doing so.
