North End Waterfront Health, located at 332 Hanover Street, is now opening its doors to patients in need of urgent appointments, for issues such as illness, infections, and minor injuries. Anyone is eligible to take advantage of this service—one does not need to have a physician at the health center.
“As part of our continuing effort to better serve the needs of the community, we are now offering walk-in urgent care appointments,” says John Foster, MD, chief medical officer for the health center. “If someone with a minor illness or injury would like to be seen immediately, they can walk in and avoid the long waits they would face in a hospital emergency room. In many cases, the co-pay at the health center would be less than it would be if a patient were seen in the ER.”
Urgent care visits run on a first come, first served basis. NEW Health accepts most health insurance; however, if you do not have health coverage we can help you apply for affordable, comprehensive coverage that meets your financial and health care needs.
