NEWF Wednesday 9/4/13: First Day of School, Library Movie and Paul Revere Memorial Lecture

What’s Going on Today:

  • It’s the first day of school at Boston Public Schools in grades 1 through 12 (Kindergarten starts September 9th). If you are driving, watch out for stopping school buses and walking children.
  • At 5:30 pm, the North End Library features Martian Child at the library, 25 Parmenter St.
  • At 6:30 pm, the Paul Revere Memorial Association Lecture Series kicks off at the Old South Meeting House (310 Washington St.) with a talk by Beverly Morgan-Welch, Exec. Director of the Museum of African American History, titled Freedom Rising: The Emancipation Proclamation, the 54th Massachusetts Regiment & Boston’s Black Community. Free and open to the public.
