The North End Chamber of Commerce welcomed Police Commissionor Ed Davis, affectionately known as Boston’s Top Cop, at Tuesday’s meeting where he spoke about neighborhood public safety. The Commissioner also talked about his experience and police response after the Boston Marathon attacks.
Specific to the North End, Commissioner Davis addressed recent efforts to increase enforcement with respect to motorcycle noise and the ongoing investigation into a past string of sexual assaults. He was also asked about increasing police presence in the late night hours to control noise and vandalism. Higher visibility was specifically requested around Cross Street from 12am-3am of those coming into the North End from the Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market area.
On behalf of the NECC, President Donna Freni presented Commissioner Davis with a plaque expressing great appreciation for his outstanding efforts on behalf of the city and the North End.
