Haymarket and Sumner Tunnel Onramps to I-93 North Closed Overnight on Friday and Saturday, June 28 & 29, 2013


Boston: Haymarket onramp to I-93 North and Sumner Tunnel onramp to I-93 North to close over night on Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29
 
Friday, June 28, at 8 p.m. until Saturday, June 29, at 9 a.m. and Saturday, June 29, from 10 p.m. to Sunday, June 30, 10 a.m.
 
The Haymarket onramp to I-93 North, located on Cross and Endicott streets, and the Sumner Tunnel onramp to I-93 North will be closed Friday night June 21, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. to Saturday morning June 22, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. for milling the microsilica driving surface and washing the base slab. 
 
Both ramps will be closed again on Saturday, June 29 from 10 p.m. to Sunday, June 30, 10 a.m. for application of the waterproof membrane and final paving. 
 
This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if rain is predicted.

Northbound vehicles in the Haymarket area will be detoured north on North Washington Street/Rutherford Avenue through Sullivan Square to the I-93 North onramp at Assembly Square.
 
Northbound vehicles from the Sumner Tunnel will be detoured to the Government Center exit and keep right at the end of the exit to travel north on North Washington Street/Rutherford Avenue through Sullivan Square to the I-93 North onramp at Assembly Square.
 
MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.  Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays because of additional vehicles traveling along the detour route.
