“The Magic of Reading” was the theme behind the 3rd Annual Fundraiser for the Friends of the North End Branch Library, held on March 8, 2012 at the Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel. It was a magical evening of cocktails, appetizers and big raffle prizes, all to support the neighborhood library. For more information on the Friends group, see www.FriendsNELibrary.org. North End Against Drugs held a successful Bingo Fundraiser on Sunday, April 21st at the Nazzaro Community Center. There were great prizes, refreshments, raffles and lots of fun! On Wednesday evening, October 5th, in a tribute to Italian Heritage Month, the Friends of the North End Library presented jazz singer Krisanthi Pappas singing the songs of Frank Sinatra. Friends of the North End Branch Library took up Mayor Menino on his offer for lots of daffodil bulbs to plant this Fall around the City.
