The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) is having their December meeting on Thursday, December 10th. The agenda is shown below and also available at www.newra.org. There will also be holiday refreshments at the end of the meeting.
NEWRA Membership Drive – This is also the time of year that NEWRA is having its annual membership drive. New members are welcome to join and existing members are encouraged to renew before the end of the calendar year.
You can become a member or renew by filling out the membership form and bringing it to an upcoming meeting or mail it to the address on the form. Due are $10/year and membership is open to residents who maintain their primary residence in the North End/Waterfront area. See the membership page at www.newra.org for more information.

Zoning and Licensing Applications

112 Prince St., Damian Szary (building owner) is seeking a zoning variance for floor-area ratio to expand the first floor unit into the basement and increase the living space by 300 square feet, as part of ongoing renovation of the building. Use of building will remain 4 residential units, to be sold as condos.
7:50 PM – 8:10 PM
Ristorante Lucia, 415 Hanover St., Donato Frattaroli has applied for a zoning variance from the Board of Appeal to allow live entertainment in the basement level of the restaurant to include not more than two instruments, not more than one vocalist, and comedian. The entertainment would cease at 11:00 P.M. If zoning relief is granted, application will then be filed with the Mayor’s Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing for the live entertainment license.
New Neighborhood Business

Candy Store
LULU’s Sweet Shoppe, 57-1/2 Salem Street, will make a short presentation about the new store that will sell candy and other sweets in the former location of Dairy Fresh Candies.
