Two Special Tours for Boston Bike Week

It is Boston Bike Week so here are a couple of special events from the bike shop at Urban AdvenTours at 109 Atlantic Avenue. See their blog at www.urbanadventours.com/blog for more information. The first tour is free and open to the public.

Wednesday and Thursday, May 19 & 20: Urban AdvenTours Bike Week Open House Then Rollin’ Out

In Celebration of Boston Bike Week and because we want everyone on two wheels to get out and enjoy the fun, Urban AdvenTours will be hosting our “Bike Week Open House and Rollin’ Out” events. We’ll be providing FREE, basic tune ups, introducing you to our new Show Room in the North End, and leading an evening bicycle tour of Boston.

Basic tune ups — which include checking tire pressure, tightening parts and lubricating components– will be from 5:00pm – 5:45pm. This will be followed by a brief tour of our spaces and description of our programs. At 6:00pm, we will depart for the Bikes@Night tour. The tour will be an hour-and-fifteen-minute loop that will depart and finish at the shop. This is a great introduction for learning how to ride in the city!

You will need a bicycle in good working condition to attend the ride and helmets are required. Don’t have a bike? No worries. Bicycles are available to rent from the shop; we just ask you schedule one in advance to ensure you’ve got a ride!

Sunday, May 23: Urban AdvenTours Paul Revere Ride to Freedom
Departs at 9am from 103 Atlantic Ave.; Price: $75

The Urban AdvenTours Paul Revere Ride to Freedom follows the path of Paul Revere’s famous midnight ride.  On this special edition tour, bicycles replace horses as you ride back in time and recount the opening days of the American Revolution hour by hour over a 25 mile route.

  1. I'd have more support for these lanes if I had ever see a bicyclist obey a traffic sign/rule/light…but I never have. They blow through stop signs, red lights, crosswalks…they go the wrong way down one ways…and they pay NOTHING towards any road repair or lining of the streets. Zero.

  3. Unlike bike riders, when I drive, I follow the rules of the road. If a bike rider chooses not to, that's their problem. I'm not going to endanger myself, my passengers or my vehicle to look out for them.
