Painting Needed at Cooper St North End Boston
This 311 user says, “Corner of Cooper and Endicott Streets desperately need a cross walk painted on it.”

Street Lights at Intersection Of Richmond St & Fulton St
This 311 user writes, “Details: street light on corner has been out for a couple weeks, This is a busy intersection | Where is the light: Street | Location details: intersection in the North End | Electric or gas light: Electric | Missing pole: No | Mulitple lights: Yes.”

Other at Intersection Of Clinton St & North St
This 311 user writes, “Please review and re-paint the traffic lane markers on North Street from Surface Road to Congress Street. The lane markers, especially the double yellow lines, of the roadway are faded and/or missing. A number of vehicles per day end up driving on the wrong side of the road, into on coming traffic, because the lane markers are not obvious/visible. Thank you, P.O. Byron – District A-1.”

Any follow up with the Girl Scout request for a tree a week or so ago? I just checked my 311 history and 271 days ago I requested a tree at the corner of Hull and Snow Hill where a tree was cut down, in the little park let at the top of the dog park at the Gassy. Still open… I did the same thing to request trees to replaced those that have been hit by vehicles on Hanover St. No response either.
Here’s the reply “Closed with status: Case Resolved.”
😀 Michael, I take it Resolved is shorthand for a common (depending on your crowd) four letter curse followed by, you and all your friends too?

I took a look at the available 311 data re New Tree Requests. Nothing too interesting really except for the large mean amount of time these requests sit open:
⚫️Total number of requests: 6,253
⚫️Of those 6,253 requests, 6,032 or 96.47% were closed with “Case Noted” or “Case Resolved” in the “Status Notes” field
⚫️The average time open for a request closed as “Case Noted” was 129 days
⚫️The average time open for a request closed as “Case Resolved” was 275 days (213% longer than those closed as “Case Noted”)
⚫️The average time open for all “New Tree” requests is 211 days
⚫️58% were closed as “Case Resolved”
⚫️38% were closed as “Case Noted”
⚫️4% were closed with neither “Case Noted” nor “Case Resolved” in the “Status Notes” field
Adam- thank you so much for pulling this data. To me it ahows that there isn’t a response on 311 or the “tree request” page of the Boston Web site. Disappointing.
