Last week’s North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) meeting provided another chance for Melina DiPaola to gain support for the K.O. North End fitness center. The proposed fitness center will occupy one of the three spaces at 89 Salem Street where True Value Hardware was located.
Not only has K.O. North End gained support from NEWRA with a vote of 30 – 4 in favor of DiPaola, but the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council previously endorsed DiPaola with a vote of 6 – 0 in favor as well.
K.O. North End will focus on self defense training, boxing, individual classes, and personal training. It will be open 7 days a week from 6 AM – 8 PM.
One NEWRA member said they were weary about the growing number of fitness centers around the North End and asked if the proposed fitness center would be successful. DiPaola responded, “I know it’s going to work, I know my demographic.”
