“When I walked in, I thought he was running for President,” quipped the Wild Duck’s Sal DiGiralamo about the large crowd gathered at Tuesday night’s fundraiser for State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz (D-North End). The annual event at Ward 8 Restaurant & Bar brought out plenty of North End residents, local business owners and a host of Boston political figures including House Speaker Robert DeLeo.
At 36, Michlewitz has represented the North End / Waterfront for nearly six years as part of the 3rd Suffolk District. A lifelong North End resident, he filled the House of Representatives seat vacated by former Speaker Sal DiMasi in July 2009 after winning a special election in the 3rd Suffolk District. The popular State Rep. has been unopposed in the most recent elections. Here are some photos from the April 7th event.
