Friends of North End Bocce, Inc. (FONEBI) accepted a grant award this week from the Massachusetts Department of Recreation and Conservation. The $4,600 grant will be matched with $2,300 by FONEBI to renovate the inside bocce courts at the Steriti Rink.

The Friends are especially grateful to members Chad Wolfson and Dave Crocini for their efforts in submitting the grant application. In addition, the group thanks Representative Aaron Michlewitz and his former legislative aide Maria Pupolo who have been extremely supportive of the organization.

Accepting the award on behalf of FONEBI was North End resident, Dr. Joseph Mendola.
