The Horticulture Committee of the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) has received the November 2019 Good Neighbor Award.
These volunteers meet every Sunday and Wednesday mornings bright and early to work for a couple of hours helping to beautify the Christopher Columbus Park on Boston’s waterfront.
Recognition Chair Janet Gilardi says about the group, “President Joanne Hayes Rines and co-chairs Robyn Reed and Terese O’Connell along with their many volunteers really do a terrific job. We sometimes just enjoy the beauty of the Park, and do not know or realize that we have such devoted volunteers “sprucing” it up for us!”
The monthly Good Neighbor award is voted by NEWRA’s Executive Committee and presented to local businesses, organizations and property owners that contribute to making our neighborhood beautiful and consistently keep the areas around their property clean of trash.
