A perfect late summer night brought large crowds to Boston’s waterfront for the 7th Annual Illuminate the Harbor fireworks show. Festivities kicked off at Columbus Park where Berklee’s Them Fantasies performed as families enjoyed lawn games. Boston Harbor Now also handed out special viewing glasses at Piers Park and Fan Pier to create an added fireworks effect.
The dazzling displays over the harbor were visible across Boston’s waterfront communities including the North End, Downtown, Seaport, East Boston, Fort Point and South Boston Waterfront. It was literally a “boom” for residents, businesses and visitors!
Help us light up the night! Individuals can donate to ensure New Year’s Eve fireworks return to ring in 2020! The Labor Day and New Year’s harbor fireworks are entirely privately funded by local 501(c)3 non-profits. Donations are tax-deductible and all contributions go directly to the show! Businesses should check out the wonderful sponsorship opportunities. (Email Christian at cmerfeld@bostonharbornow.org or Joanne at joanne@foccp.org with sponsorship inquiries.)
Thank you on behalf of the Illuminate the Harbor Fireworks Fund Committee: Boston Harbor Now, Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, and Wharf District Council.
Matt,
Thank you for the great coverage of the fireworks … they were spectacular! In additions to support from businesses around the harbor for the fireworks, many residents have chipped in as has been done for years in small towns. We hope others will consider chipping to to assure fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Donations will help with the fundraising and are tax deductible!
