12:30PM Let Me Tell You a Story at the West End Library. Join the West End Library at 151 Cambridge Street and enjoy the rare pleasure of being read to as an adult.

6:00PM North End Family Fun Festival: Family Game Night. Stop by the Rose Kennedy Greenway at Hanover & Cross Streets for lawn games for the whole family, see additional details here.

7:00PM Movies at the Marketplace. Faneuil Hall Marketplace presents “Movies at the Marketplace” where the West End of the Marketplace will be transformed into an outdoor movie theatre where visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy free movies with pre-show activities starting at 7:00pm and movies beginning at dusk. This week’s movie will be “Dreamgirls”.

7:00PM NEWRA Monthly Meeting. Join the North End Waterfront Residents Association for their monthly meeting at the Nazzaro Community Center, see additional details here.

Saturday, August 11

Madonna Della Cava Feast on Hanover Street. The feast of Madonna Della Cava beings at 7PM Friday and run though Sunday’s 1PM procession, see additional details here.

Sales Tax Holiday. For the weekend of Aug. 11-12, consumers can purchase goods of $2,500 and under without paying the state’s 6.25 percent sales tax.

10:00AM BCYF’s Summer “Girls Nights” at the Aquarium. Join the Boston Centers for Youth & Families at the New England Aquarium for a series of free girls-only events throughout the summer. All activities are designed to bring girls together in a safe, non-competitive environment where they can be themselves, meet other girls their age and engage with role models, see here for additional details.

10:30AM Dayna M. Kurtz – Mother Matters. Join I AM Books at 189 North Street as Dayna Kurtz guides new and veteran mothers alike through the best practices to care for themselves during motherhood. Dayna will be available for a meet-and-greet and book signing.
