Mike’s Pastry closes temporarily following small electrical fire

Famous North End pastry shop, Mike’s, was forced to temporarily close yesterday after a minor electrical fire burned in its basement. After signs of smoke started coming from the basement, a nearby manhole cover popped out as the result of pressure build-up, MassLive has the full story.

North End, Waterfront prices converging as both enclaves grow pricier  

Pricing comparisons from the North End/Watrfront and surrounding neighborhoods are starting to pull closer together. According to the real estate research site NeighborhoodX, the average price for market-rate homes in Boston’s Waterfront is $1,031 a square foot, with the average print of a home just north of the neighborhood is around $961 a square foot, continue reading on Curbed Boston.

Popular grocer, The Golden Goose, just introduced “Goose To Go”, a new way for customers to order their groceries, household supplies and liquor from their computers or phone. The GooseMobile has been making it’s way around the North End, making deliveries on behalf of the shop, continue reading.
