With the imminent redevelopment of the Cross St. Plaza in Boston’s North End, The Juicery intends to move to 56 – 58 Salem Street. The location was formerly occupied by Yankee Doodle Candy shop and DiPaolo & Rossi Meat Market before that.
Mike McClean presented on behalf of Alex Vandemark, owner of The Juicery. The business would be a conditional use at this location and requires approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals.
North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) members raised trash concerns at the existing location on Cross Street. The proponent said they have changed trash companies. Another question was how to better accommodate the morning line at the juice shop. The application calls for a 9pm closing hour, although the manager said they usually close at 7pm.
NEWNC voted 9-1 in support of the request. View the above video for the presentation and discussion.
