Welcome back to our weekly update that highlights some of the cases appearing on 311 in the North End/Waterfront neighborhoods. All 311 cases are public information and can be found at 311.boston.gov.
Another Homelessness Case Behind the Mirabella Pool
“Homeless camping on waterfront between North end pool and coast guard station.”
The original 311 post can be found here. This case was submitted and opened on October 20th, 2017. It was then closed on October 25th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: Case Noted. Status: Completed – Refer to Partner. Resolution: Pine St Inn Outreach, BPD Homeless Liaison and providers have been asked to assess and assist persons in need of services. J Greene, OHS.”

Illegal Parking Damages Street Light Last Month
“The street light near 8-10 Sheafe was hit by a truck that was parking illegally on our sidewalk was removed and is it going to be replaced? We need a solution to the illegal parking on the sidewalk.”

It was then closed on October 24th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: Case Noted. Case noted. Issued a new service request, to our construction crew, to replace uour post @ 6 Sheafe St. SR# 2248601. Thanks for your patience.”
Frustrated 311 User Sends Sixth Request to Repair North Street Light
“This is the sixth time I’ve sent in a request to have the light fixed at 305 North St. in Boston [in the North End]. please have somebody fix the light, it’ll be daylight savings time before you know it and it’s very dark without the lights”

It was then closed on October 24th, 2017 with the following message: “Closed with status: Duplicate of Existing Case. Duplicate Service Request. Thank you for your request. See Service Request # 2213073 for the Street Light Outage. It has been issued to 3rd shift to investigate the underground issue. Will “”need”” to get into the roadway pull box, that’s in front of the Electrified Colonial fixture.”
Abandoned Bike on Copps Hill.

“Looks like abandoned bike. Not chained down. Copps Hill Terrace North End.”

Possible Rat Infestation Near Joe’s American Bar & Grill
“There is a rat infestation coming from the dumpster that belongs to joe’s American bar & grill in the north end. I am a resident of Commercial Wharf and park my car in the parking spaces near the dumpster bc it closest to my front door. The rats from the dumpster have been living in my car hood, & I have been breathing in rat feces and dander for at least 2 months. My immune system has been compromised from this. And my car electrical system and engine has been damaged due to the rats chewing.”

311 is useless!!
I agree 311 it is useless dismantle it if you are not going to fully answer the 311 issues including but not limited to the trash out illehially each week, non-residents in resident parking spaces along with the serious infiltration of rats.
