Ben Cotto Pizzeria Opens at Hanover and Fleet Streets in Boston’s North End

Ben Cotto opened this week at 361 Hanover Street on the corner of Fleet Street, bringing pizza and Italian cafe entrees to the location formerly occupied by Circle Pizza for nearly 50 years. Translating to “Well Done,” the pizzeria has a wood-fired brick oven, about 40 seats and a dining counter.

Both North End / Waterfront neighborhood groups supported the new eatery owned and operated by Warren Mustacchio and Joe Bono (Al Dente and Benevento’s) through Nedia Trust. Ben Cotto is open for lunch and dinner with a beer and wine license and a midnight closing hour.

Circle Pizza was a Hanover Street mainstay in Boston’s North End until it closed in the year 2000. After that, the store became a chain flower shop, Kabloom, and then a franchise of 1-800-Flowers. The space is right next to North End favorite, Giacomo’s Ristorante, with its never ending line.
