Before February vacation the Eliot K-8 Innovation school held our Annual Spelling Bee for students in Grades 4-8. Our powerful partner, Mr. Carl Ameno, from the Nazzaro Center was the moderator and four students participated in the final round.

Congratulations to all the finalists. Fourth grader Jadon Berkson, fifth grader Nicolas Mansour, sixth grader Mira Yu, and seventh grade student Isabella Cesso. The winner who will move to the Citywide Spelling Bee in March is Grade 6 super speller, Mira Yu. This is Mira Yu’s second year in a row winning the Bee! Congratulations Mira and a HUGE thank you to the Nazzaro Center and to Carl for making this event such a success!

This will be the second session in a series of community meetings organized by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department.
