North End resident Elena Bonetti has been selected as the Arlington Catholic High School Senior Student of the Quarter. At the end of every quarter, teachers nominate students and then the full faculty votes on who should receive this honor. A student from each class is chosen based on their commitment to living the AC motto: “Act justly, love tenderly, walk humbly with God.”
Elena comes from a family of Cougars, her brother Michael graduated in 2014 and her sister Ivana graduated in 2016. Like her siblings, Elena has been a great leader at Arlington Catholic and volunteer at their home parish, Saint Leonard’s Church, in the North End. At St. Leonard’s, she assists with both the Saint Anthony’s Society and Saint Lucy’s Society.
While at Arlington Catholic, Elena has participated in campus ministry, the Humanitarian Club, the Imaginary Gardens literary magazine, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Elena does not limit herself in service, she also excels in academics. She has been awarded the Classical Literacy Exam Essay award, the Classical Literacy Exam gold medal, the National Latin Exam gold medal, the Latin Vocabulary Exam gold medal, and the National Classical Etymology Exam gold medal.
While Elena does outstanding on National Exams, she also does outstanding work for Ms. Seminara’s Theology class, where they discuss social issues. Another of her favorite subjects is history. Elena enjoys that, through her History class, she can understand how cultures have changed over time and where they are heading.
When asked of her future plans, Elena said she would like to attend college for corporate finance and then law school to become a corporate lawyer. We know with her drive she will succeed.
We congratulate Elena, Class 0f 2017 and wish her continued success!
