Public Safety Report: Overall Crime Down, Robbery at Gunpoint, Roof Break-In, Larcenies & Drunk Glass Throwing

Boston Police District A-1 provided an update on recent neighborhood crime incidents, summarized below, at the October 2016 North End Public Safety Meeting. The figures below cover the last 30 days period.

-City-wide: Down 6%
-District A-1: Down 3%

Robbery – Person (1)
-9/2 @ 8.05pm: Victim assaulted by unknown male. Cell phone was taken. Incident appears to be a domestic incident related to a restraining order.

Robbery – Business (1)
-9/1 @ Bob’s Convenience Store (160 Endicott St.): Suspect displayed a handgun and demanded lottery cash draw. Might be same guy from s recent robbery that took place in Charlestown.

B&E – Residence (1)
-9/4 @ 12.53am: Incidents reported @ 10 Thacher St. Apt . # 14 & 49 N. Margin St. Suspect was going from roof deck to roof deck, attempting to enter apartments via windows and skylights. Suspect was arrested. 24-yr.-old male, from The Bronx, in NYC.

Larcenies (2)
-Citizens Bank (Hanover St.): Bad checks were cashed.
-Pills taken from victim (possibly by son).

Larcenies from MV (3)
-Salem St.: Backpack and passport stolen from a rented car.
-110 Salem St.: Car was ransacked.
-Tileston St.: Laptop & cash were stolen.

Vandalism (1)
Prince St.: Glass thrown out the window by drunken people onto people on the street below.
