The North End is home to two of the sixty pianos created by local artists that are in public outdoor spaces across Boston through October 10th. Street Pianos Boston is produced by the Celebrity Series of Boston and each piano will feature a simple invitation: “Play Me, I’m Yours.”

Previously seen in 2013, the pianos are available for anyone to play and enjoy, with two conveniently deployed in the neighborhood! Tucked away behind Old North Church is a dark, almost “spooky” painted piano that had quite a crowd around it when “Sam” (pictured above) was playing a few familiar jazz tunes. The North End park along the Greenway is home to a vibrant and bright piano, nestled in the corner of the park that runs adjacent to Blackstone Street. Looking for more in the area? The Greenway also has another street piano that is right next to the carousel.
If you happen to be enjoying this public exhibit, be sure to document your visit with hashtag #streetpianosboston. Besides the two in the North End, there are dozens of these stashed all across Boston, and you can find them all with this interactive mobile map showing the piano locations, download the free Beam.in app for iOS.
Below is a video highlighting the entire process from the pianos arriving, being painted, and the Street Pianos being installed around Boston:
