6:00pm NEMPAC 15th Anniversary Celebration. Arts enthusiasts everywhere join for the celebratory milestone year of this thriving community arts organization. Proceeds help to fund NEMPAC’s operation and programming costs, performing artists and musicians, and future space in the North End for a true performance center. 6:30pm Marisa Labozzetta – Book presentation and signing. Labozzetta is a master at capturing the internal and external forces that bring change into the lives of her characters, and expressing them through a variety of voices. [I AM Books, 189 North St, Boston].
Saturday, September 24
10:30am I Piccoli Lettori. Join I AM Books for its Italian reading group for little ones! Children (0-4) and their parents will engage in multiple readings and games for a fun morning of Italian language and learning. [I AM Books, 189 North St, Boston].
1:00pm Paul Revere House: Rachel Revere: A Revolutionary Woman. Who held the Revere family together after Paul set off on his Midnight Ride? Joan Gatturna takes on the role of Paul Revere’s second wife. Enjoy her dramatic account of a woman’s struggle to hold home and family together in a time of war, blockades, and shortages. 7:00pm Sei Pupi a Gerusalemme. In honor of the 500th anniversary of the publication of Ariosto’s literary masterpiece, Orlando Furioso, SEI PUPI A GERUSALEMME (SIX PUPPETS in JERUSALEM) an original folk opera inspired by Renaissance Italian literature as well as the Sicilian puppet theater will be presented at the IAM Books on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 7 p.m. [I AM Books, 189 North St, Boston].
Sunday, September 25
9:45am NEAD Apple Picking Trip at Apple Crest Farms. North End Against Drugs will be running our Annual Apple Picking Trip to Apple Crest Farms. See the posted flyer for details and to sign up.
3:00pm LeggiAMO Insieme. The Italian reading club Nati per Leggere of Greater Boston, presents LeggiAMO Insieme, Italian story time and play. For children 4-7 and their parents. [I AM Books, 189 North St, Boston].
5:00pm Serata Solidarieta – Fundraiser for Italy at Ristorante Filippo. The N.I.S.A the Federation of the Italian Student Associations in Boston in collaboration with the Comites and Under the Auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Boston present: Serata Solidarieta – Amatriciana Pasta Night A Fundraiser for cities affected by the recent earthquake in Central Italy.
