North End Restaurants Donate to Italian Earthquake Victims; Free Comcast Calls

Boston’s Little Italy to Support Earthquake Victims in Central Italy 

Restaurants in Boston’s Little Italy are coming together to help victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Central Italy. Restaurants in Boston’s North End will support the victims by donating funds from orders of bucatini all’amatriciana as part of a fundraising effort to help the hard hit town of Amatrice and others in central Italy. Guests will be able to enjoy the homemade pasta dishes at participating restaurants in the historic North End where 100% of the proceeds from the dish will go to The Italian Red Cross to support the victims in Central Italy during their time of great need.

The offer will last through Labor Day at these participating North End restaurants.

Terramia Ristorante Donates 50% of Dinner Proceeds to Earthquake Victims in Italy

On Monday, August 29th, 2016, Terramia Ristorante located at 93 Salem Street in Boston’s North End, will host a fundraiser, 5pm-10pm in support of the citizens that were affected by the tragic earthquake that hit Italy on August 24th. In addition to drawing inspiration for two of her restaurants in the North End, owner Carla Gomes has deeply rooted Italian ties, and many of her and her husband’s family members reside in various parts of the country. Gennaro’s 5 North Square & Scopa will donate half of dinner proceeds to the victims of the earthquake in Italy. Also donations will be made from Florentine Caffe, Caffe Vittoria & Stanza dei Cigari.

Comcast Provides Free Calls to Italy

Our hearts go out to those impacted by the earthquake in Italy. To help families and friends stay connected, Comcast is providing free calls to Italy for its more than 11.5 million Xfinity Voice customers, including residential and Comcast Business customers.

This applies to all calls made to Italy through September 25 and includes both landline and mobile destinations. Credits and waived fees will be automatic, and no action is required by customers.

Additionally, free texting to Italy is available, as always, for Xfinity Voice Unlimited customers through the Xfinity Connect.

  1. This such a nice gesture from the businesses and the people of the North End (and those that will be eating at these restaurants).
    The North End ALWAYS supports other countries and our own during difficult times. This is one reason I am proud to be a native North Ender.
