10:00am Free Gentle Yoga at Christopher Columbus Park
Boston Public Health Commission, the Boston Parks & Recreation Department and Blue Cross Blue Shield MA are partnering to provide the Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series – free fitness programming in Boston Parks this summer.

3:00pm Downtown Waterfront Municipal Harbor Planning Advisory Committee Meeting at Boston City Hall, 5th Floor, Piemonte Room
The advisory committee agenda includes Climate Preparedness and Resiliency as well as Offset Recommendations and Discussion for Hook Lobster, Harbor Garage and Long Wharf Marriott

5:00pm Beer Garden on the Plaza at City Hall Plaza
Mayor Martin J. Walsh will host “Beer Garden on the Bricks” to kick-off the start of the summer season, and provide a fun space for Boston’s residents to socialize, network and engage with the City. Partner hosts of the event include Mayor Walsh’s Civic Engagement Cabinet, SPARK Boston, Boston Main Streets and the Boston Main Streets Foundation.

6:30pm Film: Sullivan’s Travels at North End Branch Library
Sullivan’s Travels (1941). A director of escapist films goes on the road as a hobo to learn about life, which gives him a rude awakening. Runtime: 90 minutes. The North End Branch Library is located at 25 Parmenter St, Boston.

From the news: Did you know the North End produced a professional golfer? Bob Baldassari, 79, noted N.E. golf professionalBob Baldassari took his first golf lessons at the Bennett Street Industrial School while growing up in the North End. Eventually going on to be PGA professional in 1963, Baldassari taught golfers from all walks of life, and was a popular member of the New England Section of the PGA before being head professional at Hillview Country Club in North Reading.
