The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) will hold its monthly membership meeting on Thursday, January 14, 2016, 7:00 p.m. at the Nazzaro Community Center. NEWRA encourages all North End/Waterfront residents to become active members and participate in neighborhood meetings. Meetings are open, and all are welcome! Residents’ Association Opposes Addition to 49-49R Charter Street

The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) voted 26-2 in opposition of a one-story addition at 49-49R Charter Street at their July meeting. The proposal also calls for legalizing the present basement occupancy. The changes would result in a change of the total occupancy from six to eight residential units. Rep. Michlewitz Updates North End Residents on Holdup of Short Term Rental (Airbnb) Bill

Rep. Aaron Michlewitz appeared before the North End/Waterfront Residents Association (NEWRA) Thursday evening to give an update on the short term rentals/AirBnB legislation. Gov. Charle Baker sent back the Mass. legislature’s bill to regulate and tax short-term rentals (AirBnb, Homeaway, VRBO, etc.) in the beginning of August after formal legislature sessions have concluded for the year.
