The following meeting reports are from the January 2016 public safety meeting, held monthly at the Nazzaro Center. The information was presented from Area A-1 Boston Police, covering the last 30 days.
Overall 2015 Part 1 Crime Incidents:
– Down 17% in District A-1
– Down 18% citywide
During the past 30 days, the following incidents were reported in the North End/Waterfront area:
1 Arrest
-12/4/15 near 30 Parmenter St: Drunk passenger from the South End had a fare dispute with an Uber driver. Suspect wanted driver to go wrong way on a 1-way street, became belligerent, was arrested on a Disorderly Person charge
2 Larcenies
-12/20/15: 308 Hanover St. (Pomodoro) between 6 & 8pm, wallet stolen from patron, credit cards later used in Somerville in the amount of $300, trying to pull video camera footage
-1/3/16: 30 N. Bennet St. (Nazzaro Center) @ 7pm, iPhone was stolen while father was watching basketball game
3 Larcenies from Motor Vehicles
-12/6/15: Victim parked car @ 164 Prince St. on 12/4/15, later phone charger was stolen and wires in car were damaged
-12/8/15 between 4pm & 4.30pm: Vehicle parked on Fulton St., $1100 Pottery Barn chair was stolen from back of pick-up truck
-12/24/15 between 1.30pm & 3.15pm: 2015 Toyota parked @ garage @ 100 Hanover St., jumper cables were stolen (and were later recovered)
Officer Steve Pasciuto has replaced Officer Jenna Cullity as overnight foot patrol officer in the North End.
A District A-1 homeless census will take place 1/12/16 – 1/14/16 between 3am & 7am
