Monday, April 27

11:00am Children’s Film at North End Library
Take a walk down to the North End library to enjoy a children’s film, located at 25 Parmenter Street, Boston.

5:00pm The Boston Harbor Association Celebration and Auction at the Boston Harbor Hotel, 70 Rowes Wharf
Get your seat for the next Boston Harbor Association celebration and auction at the Boston Harbor Hotel, to attend the event get your tickets here.

5:30pm NEAD Family Dinner/Talk at Nazzaro Center
North End Against Drugs will hold their Family Dinner Family/Family Talk at the Nazzaro Center. All North End Families are welcome to attend. There will be an Italian Dinner and our guest speaker will be the North End’s own Norma Reppucci, an expert in the recovery field. The event is free, food will be provided by Limoncello’s on North Square. View the event post.

3:30pm Kids Chess Club at North End Library
Interested in chess? Head down to the North End library and check out their chess club, the library is located at 25 Parmenter Street, Boston.

1:30pm Intro to Laptop at North End Library
Stop by the North End library to learn the basics of a laptop.

6:00pm Pool Tournament Benefit at Boston Beer Works [112 Canal Street, Boston]
Boston Beer Works is hosting a pool tournament to benefit the Eliot School. Cost is $200 per person, entry fees are tax deductible. Winners will receive over $800 in prizes, including Red Sox tickets and dinner in the North End. To sign-up click here, view the event post.

6:00pm First Ladies on Film at North End Library [25 Parmenter Street, Boston]
First Ladies on Film: From Martha Washington to Michelle Obama  In an illustrated talk, author and BPL staff member John De Vito counts down the top ten most popular first ladies of America on TV, movie, and computer screens. Join us for this scintillating program; light refreshments will be served. For an adult audience, the cost is free.

Thursday, April 30

4:00pm Dog Licensing at City Hall to Go Truck, Hanover & Prince Intersection
The City Hall To Go Truck will be on the corner of Hanover and Prince Street. Dog licensing is one of the most important aspects of dog ownership, and the new dog park at the Gassy requires all dogs to be licensed. There will be no clinic at the Nazzaro center this year, in place the City Hall to go truck will be licensing dogs on April 30th.

6:30pm Film: Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey @ The West End Museum
A documentary about the inventor of the first electronic synthesizer instrument and his subsequent life after he was abducted by the KGB. Directed by Steven M. Martin (1995) with a runtime of 83 minutes, view the trailer. Pre-registration is required and is free.

Friday, May 1

8:00am Flea Market & Bake Sale at Nazzaro Center  [30 North Bennet Street, Boston]
The North End Friends of St. Francis House will be having our Annual Flea Market and Bake Sale to support the St. Francis House homeless shelter.  View the event post.

12:00pm Flash Forward Festival Opens on Greenway 12pm6pm
The Flash Forward Festival opens its Shipping Containers on Parcel 12 of the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The series, “Amerikanare” by Gregor Schmatz will be featured. “Amerikanare” is a Swedish term which commonly refers to an American car. View the event post.

The Fence Returns to Greenway Parcel 12
From May 1st through September 1st 2015, The Fence returns to the Rose Kennedy Greenway on Parcel 12 between Quincy Market and Cross Street in the North End. This year for Boston, there is an additional section of work focusing on the North End Neighborhood as part of this special second edition of The Fence. 5:00pm Dog Park Opening at the Flights (Gassy, DeFilippo Park)
RUFF will host the opening of the North End dog park at the DiFilippo Park (Gassy) along with the City of Boston Parks Department. Free pizza will be served along with treats for dogs. The community group is very excited to see the dog park come to fruition and hopes lots of people will stop by the park and take a look at the site and meet RUFF members.

7:00pm Taste of the North End 6pm at Steriti Rink, 561 Commercial Street
The Taste of the North End – one of Boston’s most popular festivals of food, charity, and the rich history of the neighborhood – is taking place on Friday, May 1st this year. Guests can sample from more than 35 popular North End eateries showcasing a wide array of delectable appetizers, cheeses, entrees and desserts, and sip on refreshing libations from area wine and beer distributors. There will also be a high-end silent auction with hotel and restaurant packages, Boston sporting tickets, memorabilia, and more. Click here for the event post.

Saturday, May 2

9:00am Flea Market & Bake Sale at Nazzaro Center [30 North Bennet Street, Boston]
The North End Friends of St. Francis House will be having our Annual Flea Market and Bake Sale to support the St. Francis House homeless shelter.  View the event post.

12:00pm Playground / Tot-Lot Clean-up Party at Christopher Columbus Park
All are Welcome! Join local neighbors and families to kick off Spring at our Family Neighborhood Social. Enjoy children’s games, pizza from Benevento’s and have lots of fun. Plus meet other families in the neighborhood. Renew or become a Member of the Friends Group $35 Annual Family Membership (Please bring a check made out to FOCCP or a credit card to pay in the park).

12:30pm Walk the Labyrinth at Armenian Heritage Park on the Greenway [Armenian Heritage Park, Boston]
Welcome at 12:30pm For first-time walkers, an Introduction to “walking a labyrinth” Walk as One at 1pm Followed by light refreshments, with thanks to Stoked Wood Fired Pizza Co. and ZOOS Greek Iced Tea RSVP info@ArmenianHeritagePark.org.

1:00pm Summer Saturdays at The Paul Revere House [19 North Square, Boston]
Special events on Saturday afternoons (1:00-3:00) in May will feature craft demonstrations, historical talks, live music, and more in the Paul Revere House courtyard, weather permitting. Included with admission to the museum.

7:00pm Boston: Irish by Bill Brett at Battery Wharf Hotel
Come to the Flash Forward Festival Opening Reception at the Battery Wharf Hotel where acclaimed Boston photographer Bill Brett returns with Boston: Irish, a collection of more than 260 black-and-white photographs of the people and the city he loves. The exhibit will be open from April 27th through May 4, 2015 on the Main Floor, 2 Battery Wharf. Click here for the event post.

7:00pm West End Museum Jazz Week: Bright Moments [West End Museum, 150 Staniford Street, Suite 7]
$10 Donation / $5 Member Donation This concert presents a sextet playing the music of Charles Mingus and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Forces in the 1950s and 60s, Mingus and Kirk brought a modern verve to music rooted in gospel and blues. Both artists led the direction of contemporary jazz music.
