State Representative Aaron Michlewitz updated the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) this week on his legislative agenda for the 2015 term. Michlewitz represents the 3rd Suffolk District in Massachusetts including the Boston neighborhoods of the North End / Waterfront, West End, Beacon Hill, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, Bay Village, Leather District and much of the South End. He was also recently appointed Chair of the House Financial Services Committee.
Rep. Michlewitz has filed over 20 bills for this term. The most pertinent bills include legislation to regulate short-term residential rentals, such as AirBnB and Flipkey. Additionally, Michlewitz is co-sponsor of a bill to create a Boston Olympic Commission to oversee the 2024 bid and its financing.
