North End Against Drugs, thanks to a grant from Mayor Marty Walsh and the Boston Centers for Youth and Families held a “Sports Night” at Polcari Playground on Friday night July 11th from 6pm to 9pm. The program which is run by Jeremy Sarzana and allows children ages 6 to 16 to enjoy a fun night of sports related activities, from Basketball, Soccer, Whiffle Ball, Jump Rope and several other fun playground games. NEAD also provides water and a snack, all free of charge. This program is keeping with NEAD’s mission of providing a fun, affordable activity as an alternative for kids so they are not just hanging out on the street with nothing to keep them busy. The photo shows the 19 children who participated this past Friday. The best part is many of the parents come to the playground and show support for the program!
Hope to see many more kids there next Friday, July 18th – same time, same place!
