UPDATED DESIGN FOR CONSTRICTION OF CYCLE TRACK ON ATLANTIC AVENUE AND COMMERCIAL STREET
The City of Boston will present an updated plan for the construction of a cycle track on Atlantic Avenue and Commercial Street in the North End neighborhood as part of the Connect Historic Boston Initiative. The goal is to create a multi-modal corridor that benefits all users with improved mobility and safety.
The next scheduled community meeting will address the Commercial Street portion of the project. The meeting will take place on January 28th at 6:00PM at the Nazzaro Center. The Nazzaro Center is located at 30 North Bennet Street in the North End.
At this meeting we will present responses to your comments thus far and provide additional detail on the updated design. Further information can be found on the initiative website: www.connecthistoric-boston.org

Connect Historic Boston? The proposed route entirely avoids the historic sites in the North End: Old North Church, Paul Rever House. Also, it requires anyone using it to travel to/from North End residences to cross busy Commercial Street.Cycle tracks don’t improve safety for cyclists and they worsen it for pedestrians. I prepared a comment letter addressing these issues among others and you may view it at http://john-s-allen.com/pdfs/CHB_Comments.pdf
