Did you see the SMILE Mass Amazing Race teams running around the North End / Waterfront on Saturday? In its fourth year, the teams performed a series of tasks to raise money for Small Miracles in Life Exist (SMILE Mass).
We caught up with a few teams, shown above, delivering cupcakes to North End resident, Janet Gilardi, on Fulton Street and performing a task at Christopher Columbus Park.
Small Miracles in Life Exist (SMILE Mass) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing happy, healthy memories to families living with children or adults with disabilities. For its first project, SMILE Mass delivered forty beach wheelchairs, capable of being used on the sand as well as in the ocean, lake or pond waters, to 20 beaches in 12 local Cape Cod towns, from Bourne to Provincetown. These beach wheelchairs will allow families with children of disabilities (as well as disabled adults) to have a day at the beach, previously an almost impossible task.
Glad to have been a part of this event !! May God Watch over any one that has the need for a Wheel Chair !!
