After weeks of speculation, a note appeared on the closed doors of Piccola Venezia at 263 Hanover Street this weekend.  “After 32 years we have closed our doors. Thank you to all our loyal customers over the years.” The space is rumored to be an expansion by the adjacent Modern Pastry Shop, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Read More

Cross Street “Cigars” Building Torn Down
The long vacant building on Cross Street near the corner of Endicott Street was torn down this week, next to J. Pace. The one story structure had a sign that said “Cigars” on it from when it was a retail shop. We have not heard any plans for the property other than the usual talk of an apartment building or simply adding to the adjacent small parking lot. Attracting many neighborhood residents and business owners, the reception was organized by Nasser Buisier, Billy Tse, Vito Ascolillo, Carmela Laurella and Stephen DeAngelis. Connolly gave a brief speech emphasizing issues surrounding jobs, better schools, public safety, the economy, workforce housing, BRA transparency and attracting businesses to Boston.
